The Senate confirmed Tuesday another of President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.’ nominees to the federal bench, approving Rachel Bloomekatz of Ohio to the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Bloomekatz, who spent ten years in private practice and a year in a state attorney general’ office, also clerked for three judges. They included Justice Stephen Breyer of the Supreme Court of the United States.
Her nomination languished in the closely-divided Senate Judiciary Committee for over a year as Republicans steadfastly opposed her nomination.
Bloomekatz will replace Judge R. Guy Cole, Jr. once she receives her commission from Biden.
